A very unique astrophytum, only discovered in Mexico in 2001.

They prefer a part shade position. In their natural habitat, they grow under the protection of shrubs.

I have found they need a little more water than other astrophytum's during the warmer months, although they are prone to root rot, so they require a very free draining potting medium.

The plants on offer are seed grown, and have never been grafted.

Although they are small, they're approx 3 years old, and some are coming into bud ( as pictured )

For best results, plant a small pot - not much wider than the plant, in a very free draining mix, and let them completely dry out between waterings. Keep very dry during winter.

Plant will be of similar size to the ones pictured above, in the pots 60mm across.(without flowers)

Please note - Plants are posted bare rooted- without pot and potting mix.

A name tag will be wrapped with your plant for easy identification.
