This is the white spine variety of parodia lenninghausii, it's a tough plant and great for beginners.
 
It can tolerate light frosts and likes a fairly hot position, but not full sun during the hottest months of the year.
 

Plant will be of similar size to the ones pictured above, in the pots 70mm across. (without flowers)
